Calling all book lovers and gardeners:  Three fun areas at Pine Grove need volunteers.

Help in the Library

The Pine Grove School Library is open, the students are checking out books, and we need your help!

Volunteers are asked to help re-shelve books, assist students in finding books and tidy up the stacks.  We are looking for interested parents to come in once or twice a month in a designated one-hour shift.

We hope to have your help this year.

We will have a process for sign up shortly.

Assist Student Authors

Helping out at Piney's Publishing Center is a great way to get involved!  We have plenty of opportunities to help at school or from home.

Publishing Center Office Staff meet with students in school to go over their stories and help them select book covers and font styles.

Book Makers take bookmaking materials home and put together covers.

Class Typists type stories from home and email them back to the center, where they are edited and put into book form.

Editors create the finished product (this is done in the Publishing Center).

Last year we published more than 600 books and poems. Please consider joining this great committee. The kids LOVE to visit us and are so proud of their books!  Contact Katy Bredice at kmbredice@comcast.net for more information.

Spruce Up Our School

The Grounds and Garden Committee is seeking volunteers – no green thumbs necessary! Tasks vary throughout the year as follows:

Fall: Watering plants daily; perfect for pick-up moms and dads, or come at your convenience.

Winter: Help with plans and execution of a winter theme for our planter pots.

Spring: Watering plants daily, weeding and mulching.

If you are interested in any of the above volunteer positions, please contact Deb Steremberg at steremberg@sbcglobal.net. Thank you!
